Installation and Replacement — Pump Protector
Installation
The Pump Protector is installed inside the fuel tank, positioning it above or around the pump assembly. Once installed, it acts as a filtering barrier between the fuel in the tank and the pump's inlet.
Compatibility Check
Each SKU is specific to the indicated model. Before purchasing or installing, verify compatibility using the official PurMotors application list. Use on models not listed is not supported and may result in incorrect installation.
Procedure
Installation recommended by a workshop or qualified personnel. Secure the vehicle and follow the procedure outlined in the service manual to access the pump assembly. Once accessible, position the Pump Protector according to the product's specific instructions, then reassemble according to the vehicle's manual.
Maintenance and Replacement
No Routine Maintenance
The Pump Protector is a single-use item. It does not require washing, regeneration, or periodic inspections during normal use. It is not disassembled for maintenance.
When to Replace It
Replacement is indicated in the following cases:
- Inspection of the pump assembly or scheduled technical intervention
- Element visibly dirty or clogged upon inspection
- Indicative service life reached
Indicative Service Life
- Use without H2O-Stop: approximately 40,000 km indicative
- Combined use with H2O-Stop: up to 80,000 km, because H2O-Stop helps reduce free water and impurities entering the tank during refueling.
The values indicated are estimates. Actual lifespan depends on fuel quality, frequency of use, and vehicle operating conditions.
